About the Role:
The role of the Finance Team Lead is to assist the Finance Manager in achieving departmental goals and ensuring compliance with financial regulations by supervising the day-to-day operations of the finance team, providing guidance and support to team members.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Finance Team
  • Ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare regular financial reports and analysis for review by the Finance Manager
  • Collect accounting information, review and enter accounting entries in journals
  • Ensure that accounting operations are recorded on time, and control their accuracy
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to support financial initiatives and ensure smooth operations of Amazi Water mandate
  • Verify payments prepared by the Accounts Payable Technician
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure keeping of Amazi Water financial records
  • Other administrative tasks that fall within the finance department
  • Train staff on the use of financial implemented systems like Sage
  • Ensure timely payment and reconciliation of PDM
  • Liaise with Finance Manager to move and top up bank accounts for efficient running on the organization
  • Create Financial reports and suggestion to better run the team
  • Assist the Finance Manager in achieving departmental goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance & Banking or any related field.
  • Having at least 3 years' professional experience in business management and/or accounting.
  • A demonstrated experience in supervising a finance team, showcasing the ability to effectively manage and guide team members in achieving financial objectives.
  • Holding a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or any relevant certificate in finance or accounting would be a plus, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Knowledge of SAGE INTACCT software (or any relevant software) would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting software applications, bookkeeping, record keeping, finance and accounting principles, legislation and standards.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and French is required.
